Nationals fans have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Stephen Strasburg, and he did not disappoint during an impressive spring training debut. According to one fan, Strasburg was throwing some serious heat and was routinely hitting 108 miles-per-hour on the radar gun.
"He was dominating," said Miles Nelson, 32, recapping Strasburg's outing after listening to sports talk radio for a couple of minutes on his evening commute. "His stuff was so good. He was throwing like 108 miles-per-hour and was intimidating hitters to the point that they wouldn't even get in the batters box."
After such an impressive debut for Strasburg, Nelson is quite confident he will soon be the greatest pitcher in Nationals history.
"The guy throws about 108 miles-per-hour. I'm pretty sure no one else has come even close to that. In my humble opinion, with his incredible stuff he's already close to becoming the greatest Washington Nationals pitcher of all time. He's right on par with Livan Hernandez, Tony Armas and John Lannan, which, now that I say it, doesn't really sound all that impressive. But hitting 108 on the gun is freakin' awesome!"
