Swinging a Hot Bat Gives Hitter 3rd Degree Burns

Things were going well for Matt Diaz. He was swinging the so-called hot bat, with 11 hits in his last 22 at bats coming into today. However, the hot bat finally got to him, causing 3rd degree burns.

"Ow! OWWWWW!" screamed Diaz. "It feels like I burned my hand off! Why did I have to hit .500, why?!? I guess in time, I will be able to see if swinging a hot bat was worth it."

Sadly, Diaz is not the first hitter to succumb to the hot bat, and he won't be the last.
