Despite facing a possible NBA suspension or even jail time for allegedly bringing three guns into the Washington Wizards locker room, Gilbert Arenas has asked the team to provide him with a larger locker in order to store his medieval weapon collection.
"It's recently become a hobby of mine," said Arenas in reference to collecting medieval weaponry. "To me, these things are works of art and I would like a secure storage place for them. Plus, it's not safe for me to have these weapons in my home, especially around my young children, so logically I figured I'd bring them to our locker room."
Weapons brought to the Verizon Center by Arenas include several spears, swords and medieval daggers, a shoulder stock crossbow and a large, full-size catapult.
"That catapult is my favorite piece," said Arenas. "It was used to bomb some famous castle in Ireland. Or maybe it was Scotland. I don't know. I think they even used it in that movie Braveheart. Freeeeedom!!!! Man, I love that movie."
