Nets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe will be handling head coaching duties for the New Jersey Nets for the remainder of the season, after Lawrence Frank was fired earlier in the week. The team is off to a brutal, record breaking 0-18 start.
Vandeweghe had originally planned to completely remake the roster, and bring in some better interim players, but due to rules regarding NBA contracts, he's stuck with the same crew as his predecessor.
"I guess I overlooked that when I named myself coach," said a disappointed Vandeweghe. "Better interim players would have been a great idea. Maybe I should rethink this coaching thing, cause morale is pretty low with the bunch of players we have now."
Unable to obtain interim players, Vandeweghe will have to develop a plan B.
"Do you think the Cavaliers would trade LeBron James? Probably not. You're right. Lakers trading Kobe? No? Well, I'm officially out of ideas."
