Kentucky guard John Wall voiced his displeasure toward John Calipari's criticism of his recent play. However, he quickly shot down the idea that a rift exists between the star freshman and his head coach.
"There is no rift between Coach Calipari and myself," said Wall. "We've sat down and talked over our differences, and I'm willing to listen to his advice and direction until I leave for the NBA. So I guess that means I have to tolerate him for another month and a half. Shouldn't be too difficult."
Wall says that despite their differences, he is willing to put up with Calipari until Kentucky wins, or is eliminated from the NCAA Tournament.
"As long as I am at Kentucky, I need to listen to Coach Cal to help our team win," said Wall. "I can't be a distraction to my teammates by getting frustrated, pouting and only looking out for myself. But as soon as the season is over I'm getting the heck out of Lexington and away from those losers.....to sign with an agent and cash in on my fat pro contract! Oh, yeah!"
