Fake Laughter Interrupted by Analysis on Fox NFL Pregame Show

The usually reliable fake laughter on FOX NFL Sunday's pregame show was interrupted today with some actual analysis by former NFL head coach Jimmy Johnson. Dialogue that involved actual football completely befuddled the show's host, Curt Menefee.

"I didn't know what to do," said the still shook up Menefee. "The teleprompter said 'uproarious laughter subsides' only there wasn't any uproarious laughter. Johnson had some insight about how the Steelers defense will be affected by the absence of Troy Polamalu instead of making a crack at whatever stupid thing [Terry] Bradshaw had just said. It really threw me off. Thankfully we sent it to commercial right away to give ourselves a chance to regroup. "

Despite the unwelcome interruption, Menefee and the guys were able to recover and continue with the show.

"I'm still not sure what Jimmy was thinking with that Polamalu nonsense, but those guys are professionals, and after a commercial break we were able to pull through with the rest of the show," said one of the producers. "That bit we did with [Michael] Strahan wearing a huge sombrero was great. His goofy smile with the giant gap in his teeth really added to the comedic element we're always looking for."
