The friction between Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress and Brett Favre took a public turn last weekend with the heated argument on the sidelines during the team's loss to Carolina. Childress wanted to remove Favre from the game, but the quarterback wanted no part of that. Favre says the issue has been resolved, as he and his family have suddenly moved to Sweden, ultimately ending his hot and cold relationship with the Vikings.
"It was all I could do at this point," said an obviously emotional Favre. "We couldn't get along, so I decided to leave town, especially after hearing that it wasn't the first time he wanted to bench me. Once is a slap in the face, but hearing that he wanted to do this over and over was very distressing."
Childress certainly didn't think Favre's relationship with the team would end this way.
"I am deeply sorry for my transgressions," said Childress, possibly referring to the multiple times he wanted to bench Favre. "I apologize for hurting the team, and especially Brett. Please respect my privacy as I try to deal with the extremely difficult matter of having Tarvaris Jackson as my starting quarterback."
