Hines Ward made no secret that he was upset with his quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, who didn't play in last night's 20-17 overtime loss to the Ravens due to a concussion. Ward feels Roethlisberger let his team down by not playing, and thinks Big Ben should have gone against doctors orders and been on the field.
"Ben is a total wimp for not playing," said a still upset Ward, a day after the loss. "It's just a concussion, what's the big deal? Oh, your brain got a boo-boo does it? Oooh, you got a little headache? What a little girl. I can't believe he let us down like that."
To show just how tough he is, Ward plans on giving himself a concussion prior to Pittsburgh's upcoming game with Oakland. At this time, he is uncertain exactly how he'll give himself a concussion, but will probably just bash his head against something really hard.
"Bottom line, it doesn't matter how I give myself a concussion, as long as I get one. I'm going to give myself a good one too - loss of consciousness, amnesia, the whole bit. And I don't care what any of the concussion tests say, if my vision is double, if I'm throwing up or if part of my brain is oozing out of my ears. I'm going to be on the field come Sunday."
