Joey Porter makes no secret of his dislike for the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, and the special treatment he perceives they receive from the league. According to Pro Football Talk, Porter stated in an interview that aired on the NFL Network that he felt Brady has a special set of rules just for him. Today, Tom Brady has enforced those rules, and has banned Joey Porter from the NFL.

"Wow, I guess I didn't expect that to happen," said Porter. "I meant he had a special set of rules to protect him on the field. I didn't think his powers extended to off the field too. In hindsight, I guess I should have kept my mouth shut."

Brady would like the banning of Porter to serve as a message to the rest of the league.

"Don't mess with me," said an obviously incensed Brady. "If you cross me, I"ll have you kicked out of the league. Take things too far, I may even have you kicked out of the country. Or traded to the Raiders. Don't believe me? Try it. Has anyone seen Richard Seymour lately? That's what I thought."
