Jimmy Johnson completed what some fans are calling an incredible athletic feat over the weekend by driving a car en route to winning his fourth straight Sprint Cup Championship, proving he is the best in the world. At driving a car. NASCAR fans cannot stop singing his praises.
"That was awesome!" said Tommy Hudgins, a hardcore Jimmy Johnson fan from Moose Flats, Alabama. "For a guy to drive a car around an oval faster than other drivers for four years in a row is truly amazing. I'm just glad that I could live to see it."
Betty Pettigrew, a 44-year-old NASCAR viewer from Jackson City, Georgia thinks Johnson is among the top athletes in the world.
"In my opinion, Jimmy Johnson is on par athletically with Michael Phelps, LeBron James or that dude from Jamaica that runs really fast, if not on a higher level all by himself. Sitting in a car and driving for five hundred miles without the contraints of speed limits or other basic traffic laws while a world class crew of mechanics and engineers work on and maintain your car is one of the toughest things to do in all of sports."
