The citizens of Las Vegas have begun the wild celebration consisting of going about the simple routines of their day, following the Las Vegas Locomotives winning the inaugural United Football League championship.
"We have a football team," said one citizen as she placed grocery bags into the back of her SUV. "Oh, yeah. That arena team, right? No? Outdoor football. Huh. Well good for them. Now excuse me, I need to get these groceries home before the milk spoils."
The city has clearly been struck with championship fever, as fans all over the city showed their appreciation for the team by mowing their lawns, washing their cars and running personal errands. Not to mention some serious Christmas shopping.
"It's exciting to bring a championship to the city of Las Vegas," said Locos head coach Jim Fassel. "Las Vegas was desperate for a championship, and we were fortunate enough to bring one home. It's also nice that the fans of this great city think enough of us to leave us alone and not ask us over and over about what it's like to win the big game, as though they don't know who we are. It's as if they're completely ignoring us out of respect. Now those are true fans."
