Tommy Whetson, a writer for Sportscenter on ESPN succumbed to procrastination in the writing of his nightly script, and was forced to plagiarize old Seinfeld episodes, claiming the material was originally his. This comes on the heels of an apparent plagiarizing issue between ESPN and Pro Football Talk.

"This isn't good," said Whetson. "I really wish I had gotten around to writing the script for the show instead of watching Seinfeld re-runs on TBS. Copying a written work and not giving credit to the original writer is a horrible thing to do in this business. I hope no one really noticed the things I completely ripped off."

Despite Whetson's wishes, Sportscenter anchor Neil Everett says that the copied Seinfeld episodes were very obvious.

"If you watched those highlights, it was pretty apparent that he took most of his material from old Seinfeld episodes," said Everett. "I mean screaming 'They were all Twix, it was a set-up!' after Dwyane Wade dunked over that one guy didn't make any sense at all. And [Mark] Schlereth breaking down the Steelers/Broncos with his 'It was supposed to be the summer of George' analysis was very confusing."
