Chipper Jones is back to the Braves after some time of absence due to a knee surgery. He feels that his left knee is much stronger after the surgical repair; he has the enthusiasm that the team will be saved from the early season woes. Even after staying away for some time, he has still managed to surprise many by his comeback actions that led to the 6-4 win over Astros. The repair was just in time otherwise he would not have made it this season just like he missed the first game.
He pushed himself during a pregame workout and has succeeded so far. He bypassed the rehabilitation games and went for the real thing, Texas tech shirts, this proved to be the right move given the outcome of the match. After watching his team beaten while he was disabled, he was determined to play against the Astros. With this spirit, the Braves have a bright future this season.
He has just been from surgery two weeks ago and is only two weeks away from his 40th birthday but he has the drive of a 30 year old player. He however plans to rest during the Thursdays off in order to be maximally productive for the game on Friday against the Brewers.
The manager, Fredi Gonzalez says he wants Jones in the game if he feels good enough to keep playing. In order for the Braves to succeed in the season, they really need players like Jones and the motivation otherwise they are doomed just like their opening match.
